I’m excited to share that I’m back from my break! I took some time to support my husband during his recovery, and I truly appreciate your understanding.

To celebrate my return, I’ve put together a reel showcasing some highlights from Whatu+Co’s humble beginnings. It’s a reminder of our journey together and the amazing community we’ve built.

Now, I’m ready to dive back into creating engaging learning experiences and resources for our tamariki, mokopuna, kaiako, and whānau.

It was inspiring to connect with such passionate Kaiako who are dedicated to making a difference in their teaching practices and classrooms. Your enthusiasm for nature education and commitment to fostering meaningful learning experiences are truly commendable.

Together, we explored innovative approaches to integrate nature into our teaching, and I left feeling invigorated by the shared insights and ideas. Thank you for your engagement, your questions, and your willingness to embrace new ways of thinking.

Our hearts are full being able to normalise and share this with our mokopuna and use the kai grown to feed our community.

Over the past 4 months we have received an abundance of kai from our gardens which has helped us feed over 70 families on the daily in our community and still have trolleys full to donate to the local food bank ❤️

Being a kaiako/teacher is finding ways to connect the learning in a holistic way for tamariki/children and make sense of the Te Ao Māori lense to connect with the land/whenua 🍅🥬
